Homeless encampments are a Seattle plague

cop...marine...businessman

Nirav Sheth is All of these

Sheth: "I took an oath."
by James A. Bridge IIIcontinued from SHETH-2
Sheth pointed to Vince Zhao, owner of Seattle’s Joyale Seafood Restaurant, who recently announced that the restaurant was cutting back to weekend-only service. Zhoa claimed that crime, drug activity, homelessness, and the neighborhood's reputation had driven customers away. "For weekdays, weeknights, no one's here. No one dares to come by themselves," Zhoa said. He also said in reports from Channel 7 KIRO and Everett Post that car break-ins, open-air drug dealing and homeless encampments around the restaurant have discouraged patrons, even though customers are not typically attacked inside the restaurant. Sheth drew a line from Congresswoman Jayapal’s constant I.C.E. attacks directly to what he claims is an ‘illegals scam’. Sheth claims that Seattle is home to a significant illegals scam. Illegals are paying five-figure sums to come across the border. Washington State spends $1 billion a year on homelessness, Sheth said. “Those illegal aliens that are here…there are so many lawyers; most of them are not real asylum seekers. Some of them are paying $70,000 to get over here, $60,000. "They know when and where the person is going to cross the border. The asylum system is a joke, there are lawyers just exploiting the system that we have.” Congresswoman Jayapal has repeatedly introduced the Dignity for Detained Immigrants Act, which would increase oversight of detention facilities, reduce mandatory detention, expand alternatives to detention, and phase out private immigration detention. Candidate Sheth, however, is NOT a fan. “Absolutely not. I’ve seen how these people come over here. These peoples’ intentions are basically just to jump the border. That’s the strategy they’ve been using for several years. They have to give their passports to their handlers. It’s a big human trafficking network. They are doing it on purpose,” Sheth said. If elected, Sheth said he will support vigorous I.C.E. enforcement. The illegals, he said, are being jumped ahead in line. “They have to go back and follow proper channels. My brother is getting denied, and he’s a doctor. That’s unfair for the people who actually apply and follow the laws, don’t you think? That’s my point of view. “So why are illegal aliens getting benefits while those doing it legally must wait?” Sheth asked.
