There is a prize fight brewing in the Washington 7th Congressional. “In this corner, the reigning Champeen, Pramila JAYAPAL!” The crowd roars and boos rain down the rows to the spot-lit four-corner ring. The challenger shadow boxes for the audience, and cheers resound! “And in the opposite corner, a former Marine, a former Policeman, and now an entrepreneur–Nirav….SHETH!” The theme from Rocky resounds around the square-circled palace! The referee points to ringside… “DING!” Nirav Sheth is a businessman who is on a mission to save the people of the Washington 7th from further decline and ruin. Coming from Ahmedabad, India, his path to Washington State included service in the United States Marine Corps, as a policeman, and stops in Florida, Arizona, and finally Seattle. “I am married, my wife (Vaishali) was in the Army, this is how we got settled here. I have a seven year old boy (Hriday), and a brother in India, Jay, a doctor,” he said. He has brokered his Marine Corps training and experience in aircraft maintenance into a small empire of five Meineke franchises. But there have been black eyes. Ruin and decline have touched his own life. “I started my first business in 2017 when I was a police officer. “I had an Italian Restaurant, the Bistro Baffi,” the Indian native said. But the surging crime rate in the Seattle area claimed and swept away his restaurant.
